Our Charity Support

We are proud to announce that ITS European Congress will be supporting the Cookstove Ghana project.

The carbon offset project we have selected is investing in efficient cooking stoves in Ghana in order to reduce CO2, while improving people’s quality of life, reducing deforestation and improving air quality. Moreover, this project aims to provide a better livelihood and higher employment rates for the people of Ghana.

What can you do to help?

Going green needs your participation. Please help us by: Compensating your carbon emission

During the registration process you will be able to compensate your own carbon footprint from your travel and accommodation needs. Please select compensation based on your mean of transportation and the average calculated for you based on this calculator www.greentripper.org.

Our key approach

In terms of logistics

We focus on:

  • Reducing the event’s carbon emissions
  • Creating less waste
  • Considering sustainability as an important criterion for the selection of our suppliers

Our efforts include:

  • Participants’ materials are reduced &/or produced in recycled material
  • Catering contains locally sourced, seasonal, and organic ingredients and provides a variety of vegetarian options
  • The ITS European Congress website and event app will be populated with electronic versions of the agenda and instructions, and supporting documents, reducing the need for paper printouts. We are reducing the use of paper in favour of electronic options, and the use of sustainable materials in any displays.
  • Most of the ITS European Congress suppliers and partners have a recognized sustainable certification or sustainable policies in place

In terms of programme

One of our main topics during the Congress is Green and Sustainable mobility focusing on:

  • Consumer buy-in and user engagement
  • Decarbonisation and reduction of GHG emissions
  • Electrification
  • Hydrogen
  • Investment in physical and digital infrastructure
  • Sustainable transport policies

  • Reducing waste and promoting recycling
  • Working with a caterer that includes a sustainable development policy and an ISO 14001 environmental management system

Their efforts include:

  • Implementing a waste collection and sorting system
  • Redistributing non-perishable foodstuff, choosing reusable and/or compostable or solid tableware, minimizing packaging as far as possible
